In person — Prestwich
Therapy in Prestwich, Manchester
CBT and EMDR for OCD, anxiety and trauma, in person at Sanctuary Therapy Centre on Bury New Road — my permanent base, on the north side of Manchester.
Where & when
My permanent base is Sanctuary Therapy Centre at Oakhill Court, 171 Bury New Road, Prestwich, M25 9ND — an 1836 building on the edge of Prestwich village, with free parking at the door and step-free entry from the car park.
I see a small number of clients in person here and work online the rest of the week, so say on the free call that you'd like to meet in Prestwich and we'll find a regular slot.
The rooms where we meet
I see clients in either of the rooms at Prestwich — whichever is free at your time. Both are quiet, private and plainly furnished, with a waiting area outside so you never arrive straight into the room.
The Oasis Room
A spacious, light-filled room on the ground floor, comfortably furnished for individual and couples work. Features a comfortable seating arrangement, artwork, and natural light through large windows.

The Nirvana Room
A smaller, cosier space ideal for individual therapy sessions. Thoughtfully decorated to feel calm and welcoming, with a comfortable chair arrangement and warm lighting.

A look around Sanctuary, Prestwich
An 1836 building, not a clinic
Oakhill Court was built in 1836 as part of a private estate, and it still feels like a house: high ceilings, big windows, a proper front door. I founded Sanctuary Therapy Centre here because the building does half the work — people settle quickly in rooms like these.
What I treat here
Most of my in-person work in Prestwich is OCD — intrusive thoughts, checking, contamination fears, rumination and "Pure O" — treated with CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention, the approach NICE recommends. I also see people for anxiety, panic, health anxiety, phobias, depression and trauma, using CBT and EMDR.
Sessions are available in English or Spanish, and a course can be entirely face to face, entirely online, or a mix — many people do the assessment in the room and later exposure work from home, where the problem actually lives.
Who comes here
Prestwich sits on the north side of Manchester, so clients come from Whitefield, Bury, Radcliffe, Salford, Crumpsall, Middleton and the city centre — twelve minutes on the Metrolink from Victoria.

Common questions
Do I have to come every week? Weekly is what works best for OCD and anxiety, and a typical course is 12–16 sessions. If getting to Prestwich every week is hard, we can alternate in-person and online sessions.
Can I start online and switch to in person later? Yes, in either direction. Same therapist, same approach, same length of session.
Do I need a diagnosis or a GP referral? No. Most people arrive describing what they do rather than naming a condition, and working out together whether this is OCD is part of what the first sessions are for.
Is there somewhere to wait? Yes — a quiet waiting area separate from the corridor, so you never arrive straight into the room.
